DAN -- The Data ANalyzer 1.2 is an interactive engineering and scientificdata analysis system -- a productivity tool for anyone who analyzes andplots data. Capabilities include input and output of several datafileformats, mathematical manipulation of data tables in memory, andpresentation x,y plotting support. Users access up to 1 memory datasets by name using wild-card characters, similar to working with files ina directory. An online help system gives quick, concise help.Data analysis includes built-in functions for calculator-like operationson memory data sets: addition, subtraction, multiplication, reciprocal,logs, powers, reverse x and y, scaling, and shifting of tablecoordinates. DAN will sort and merge tables, equally space x-values,integrate curves by Simpson and trapezoid methods, perform FFTs, smoothtable y-values, and perform several least-square fits. DAN enables usersto create functions and distributions for comparison with input data andfor background noise subtraction (exponential, Gaussian, Lorentzian,Maxwellian, linear, triangular, trigonometric, and black-body).
